We had a reservation in Palacio azul as part of a package while touring Cuba in a rented car. For once, I did not check the hotel on the internet before and my wife and my had no particular expectations, if at all not to positive with such a presumptuous name.
Our surprise was thus huge to find such a jewel of a hotel in Cienfuegos, it is perfectly restored and clean and has a high romantic edge. Our room was huge with a big terrace which tempted us to have diner with an ocean view. That's how we found out that the service and hospitality matched perfectly well with the looks of the hotel and we enjoyed an unforgettable private candle lit dinner!
We wholeheartedly recommend the truly blue, truly palace at Cienfuegos if you have the chance to visit this pretty town. Don't miss the 10' walk to Palacio del Valle, where you could also have a romantic dinner or at least a mojito with a view from the rooftop!
