Hi,
Just stayed at Maria La Gorda, which had great diving and beautiful nature to offer.
But please fix the food !
We stayed in a mix of places all over the west and simple can be amazing if a little care is taken, as demonstrated by the rest of the Cuban people we stayed with.
B'fast buffet
- Bread is ok
- Eggs are over cooked (just cook small batches and replace)
- Pancakes raw and doughy (again cook less at a time and change recipe)
- Coffee very weak
- Watermelon juice too sweet, why add sugar and water to juice ??
- ran out of cups, cutlery, glasses every day
Dinner buffet
-Again all was there but just not made with any love or care so was quite uneatable.
Other restaurant
-Pizza ok (but changed every day)
-Over cooked and killed food again
-1st day waitress was really good so the bad food was made ok by her smile and care even placing the pure mango juice (tetra pack) on the table..(very sweet)
-2nd day staff changed and so did the care
Looks like big changes are taking place there with all the building works going on April 2013.
But please all the problems are so easy to fix, which turned what should of been great into wanting to get out as quick as possible.
Go there to enjoy the nature but take as much of your own food as possible
(one family brought there own cereal, nutella etc to the buffet every morning they must of been regulars as they also had amazing outfits to protect against the sand fleas, very smart).
