  Guantanamo
Shackleton 19th June 2009
I'm gonna spend some time in Guantanamo at the beginning of August. Due to scarce info on the city, I can't figure out what is this place all about?

Is it dangerous? Are there any places to go out? What are the best places to visit?

Can anyone help?

Guantanamo it's not dangerous at all, in fact you'll find there people very hospitable. Many places to visit such as gigantic stone sculptures known as Monitongos, known as Stone Zoo, and in the North-East of province, Baracoa, the first Cuban Town founded by the spanish conquerors.

I live in Guantanamo and is a very peaceful and quiet city. People are very friendly. You can visit the Stone Zoo and also Caimanera town that is very of the US Naval Base in Guantanamo. But if you are looking for good beaches you should go to Baracoa and there enjoy the best place where nature is preserve in Cuba "Alejandro Humbolt National Park". If you want more info i recommend the following websites: baracoa.org and guantanamocity.org.
