I thought anyone planning on going to The University Of Havana to learn Spanish may be interested in this information.
If you arrive with a tourist visa you need to have it converted to a student visa which cost around 40cuc. This will be arranged at the university when you go for enrollment (usually the 1st Monday every month)
Your new student visa will only be valid for a couple of days after your last day at the university and cannot be converted back into a tourist visa.
This means you cannot study Spanish at the University and then go travelling around Cuba using the Spanish that you have learned, unless of course you pay for more classes at the university and just dont show up for classes! |

| hmm... sounds rather interesting.... |

| What is the maximum duration for such student visa, and how many times you can extend in the University, you mean, no need to go to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, just submit your payment and passport to the University? Thanks! |
