looking for some advice on is it possible to ship a cardboard bike box from Holguin to Havana.
I am flying into Holguin and would like to pick up my bike box in Havana for my return trip back to Canada. Has anyone ever used the local bus system to ship things between Cuban Cities |

Do you know if both bus companies, Visula or Astro will ship boxes across the country.
Can one also arrange to have the box delivered to a hotel in Havana

Yes, they are. Both Viazul or Astro , they arrange transportation for shipping this box, also can do it by train too, but this is takes more time, so I recomended to travel with your own box on the same bus.( if not they will send on the next bus).
Also as soon as you go out of the bus terminal you can arange a transportation for you hotel, you can try with microbus or with private car. |

transfer from Holguin to Havana are possible either as cargo on the internal Cubana flight or on the Viazul bus. Both would charge.
You do need to inquire about the security of your bike getting to its destination - airport, hotel or otherwise - and seek assurance/guarantees. Your item 'getting lost' on the way or whilst it awaits your arrival in the capital is a risk ... I would be cautious even with Cubana and Viazul and advise you strongly against sending the bike by train. |
