I am very happy I found your site, and I hope you receive this message.
I was stationed at the naval base from May 1960 - January 1962. I met a girl (civilians could still visit the base). We fell in love and would write letters, delivered by a mutual friend who worked on base. Her name was Sonia, but it has been such a long time ago -- 50 yrs.! -- and I have forgotten her last name. Unfortunately, I was transferred away, and was never able to contact her again. Both of us are approaching 70.
Just thought I would contact someone in Caimanera. In the meantime, I will keep trying to jog my memory to try and recall her last name. Perhaps, in this age of Internet, I will find her.
